· Brownie Bonbons Recipe
· Candied Orange Peels Recipe
· Choco-Cherry Truffles Recipe

Brownie Bonbons

For manufacture the excellent brownie "bonbons" you need a box of brownie mix (the more chocolately the better) and a half a cup of crushed candy canes. The first step is to make the brownies, just like any brownies before. Take them out of the oven a puny before they are done and roll them into small balls. Then crush up the candy canes and roll the brownie balls into the candy canes, thoroughly coating them. Let them cool and then serve!

Candied Orange Peels

To make candied orange peels you need the peels of three large oranges, a cup of water, two table spoons of corn syrup, and 3 cups of sugar. First take your peels and cut them into strips, about a quarter inch wide. Then boil a pot of water with the corn syrup, and sugar until thoroughly dissolved. Simmer the orange peels for forty minutes, then let cool on a cookie sheet, and wait for them to cool. Enjoy!

Choco-Cherry Truffles

Just the word truffle makes me start to drool. Truffles are one of those foods that every person loves, so you won't go wrong if you settle to try this recipe. Melt the semisweet chocolate in with the milk and salt in a saucepan (watch determined as it tends to burn). Next, stir in the liquor, cherries, and nuts. Allow this combination to cool and put in the refrigerator for at least an hour. The next part requires you to scoop out balls of chocolate. Then cover these balls of chocolate with melted white chocolate and sprinkles.

The History Of Italian Food

While some of the most favorite dishes connected with the Italian culture comprise a tempting slice of pizza and a heaping plate of pasta, there is much more to the world of Italian cooking. Throughout the many regions in Italy, the distinctive cuisine of the Italians shines straight through in a wide-range of eating habits, styles of cooking, and choice of local ingredients. The changing of the times has also influenced Italian food, as the meals served in the pre-Roman era possess both similarities and differences in the cuisine of today.

The culinary history of Italy established a prestige more than 2,000 years ago, which includes an renowned movement while the Roman Empire. Culturally, food preparing was quite leading in the past where flashes of point have been captured in the only surviving cookbook (Apicius), which dates back to the first century Bc.

What Are Truffles

The spread of Italian food diversity began after the fall of the Roman Empire when personel city states began to uphold isolate identities and traditions. Each region began to display its own unique way of cooking, right down to the formation of a meatball to the characteristic cheeses and wine produced in a locale. The north industrialized Tuscan beef, while black truffles were very favorite in Marches. Provolone and mozzarella cheeses industrialized in the south, as well as a host of sharp citrus fruits.

Diverse types of bread, variations in pasta, and varying food preparing techniques also differed agreeing to region. The southern regions of Italy embrace hard-boiled spaghetti, while the north often prefers a soft egg noodle. Milan is known for their risotto, while Bologna has a deep history about tortellini, and Naples is renowned for their pizzas.

Over the years, Italian cuisine has greatly evolved in part because of a wealth of surface influences that have added to its characteristic flavor and appeal. In the beginning, old Greek cookery became an integrated part of Italian cuisine. Eventually, a wealth of imports found their way into the kitchens of early Italians, who sent Roman ships to derive a variety of leading foods, including wheat, wine, exotic ingredients, and fine spices from nearby the world. Some ships even traveled to faraway locations, such as China, to bring back edible resources that catapulted the depth and variety of Italian cooking styles.

Coastal regions are known for their developments in tasty fish and seafood dishes. For example, the island of Sardinia supplies a more customary and straightforward style of cuisine, which often incorporated delicacies, connected with the sea. Swordfish, lobster, anchovies, sardines, and other Mediterranean treats rehearse Italian cooking of the area. In Sicily (another island region), a great deal of the cooking drew heavily from North African influences. An Arab affect also affected cuisine on the island and within the rest of the south, especially with the introduction of varied spices and sweets, such as the Sicilian ice cream cake called cassata.

As for one of the most favorite Italian dishes, while the history books often state that pasta was a stock of the Chinese brought back by Venetian merchant, Marco Polo, it was as a matter of fact a rediscovery of a food item eaten while Etruscan and Roman times. It is believed that the first pasta in Italy was made similar to the noodles of today - from the same durum wheat - which was cooked in ovens instead of boiled in water.

Today, the differences in Italian cooking still show straight through in the distinctions in the middle of the north and the south. Each region still carries their own traditions in cooking that reflects deep history and culture with a never ending furnish of main courses, appetizers, and desserts that continuously tempts the taste buds.

  • Works with Keurig single serve brewers
  • The quick, simple, and no mess way to get a fresh cup of coffee!
  • Try new flavors without committing to a whole box!

24 Count K-cup Flavored Coffee Sampler Overview

Plain coffee is great, but every now and then I need a nut, vanilla, or chocolate - pure, heavenly chocolate with my coffee. If you agree, then this is for you. This is a variety of flavored coffee for brewers that use the Keurig K-Cup system. There will be 24 K-cups in total. This variety sampler includes only flavored caffeinated coffee. A minimum of 8 different flavors will be included. We select 20 or more flavors of k-cups (some from the list below, some not), mix them together and randomly pull 24 for the package and typically see between 8 and 16 different types in bags we sample. Due to the mixing method, the result is random and the count of each type is also random. You may get 2 of 12 different types, or 7 of 1 type and 1 of 17 others. We select different boxes and flavors every time we order to make sure the varieties stay unique and random -- which is part of the fun. Coffee roasters are always discontinuing flavors and adding new ones which we try to get and add as soon as they are available to us, so the list below is not exact but we try to update when major changes occur. Most people receive a few of the listed K-cup types, but occasionally one won't because of the random selection method. We repackage k-cups into a new bag. We use a recyclable and compostable bag that is eco-friendly. Possible Flavors: Donut House - Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Glazed Donut Green Mountain Coffee - French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Rain Forest Nut, Pumpkin Spice, Southern Pecan, Mocha Nut Fudge, Carmel Vanilla Creme, Wild Mountain Blueberry Gloria Jean's - Mudslide, Swiss Chocolate Almond, Hazelnut, Butter Toffee Van Houtte - Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Vanilla Cupcake, Pecan Praline, Belgian Chocolate, Creme Brulee, Butterscotch, Macadamia Nut Cookie Wolfgang Puck - Creme Caramel, Hawaiian Hazelnut, Jamaica Me Crazy

But...if you have a sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch, a ruffler attachment and a narrow hemmer, like a rolled hem attachment, then you can have a lot of fun development ruffles without much endeavor on your part.

The wider the ruffle, the fuller they need to be.

The rule of thumb is sheer fabrics need three times the ended ruffle and weightier fabrics only need two and a half times the ended length.

Once you have decided on your width and plenty of the ruffles, portion out on your fabric and start cutting out the fabric, remember to allow for hems.

I like to make a template from light cardboard, like manila briefcase thickness, of the ended width of the ruffle, use as a guide to cut the fabric, allow for the hems. Then you can use the same template for pressing up the hems to sew. Alternatively make two templates, one with hems added for the measuring and cutting and the other without hems for the pressing. This saves a lot of tedious measuring.

Join sections together, end to end, that's the width and make one continuous length. Stitch a narrow duplicate folded hem along one long edge. If your ruffle is going to be on the outside, then you need to stitch both long edges with the narrow double-folded hems.

If you have a ruffler attachment for your sewing machine, then attach it and do a test ruffle so you can get the right fullness, ensue the instructions for your ruffler attachment.

If you don't have a ruffler attachment, then you can make the ruffles this way. You need the zig-zag stitch for your machine, set to a very wide width and length. This will need a diminutive practice too before you take on the ruffle.

You will need a strong cord, something like dental floss is good or a crochet thread. Lay this along the stitching line and being very particular not to catch the floss or thread, zig-zag over it.

When you have stitched the length of the ruffle, collect one end of the floss or thread by tying a large knot in it so it won't pull through. Now pull the other end of the floss or thread until you have the desired length of the ruffle and collect at that end.

Divide the ended length of your ruffle into 4 equal measures. If the ended length will be say 36 inches, then mark out on your template 9 inches. Use this as a guide for getting the conference even. Start by conference up the ruffle in sections to the 9 inches and pin each section as you go, then machine stitch the ruffle, cord side up and keep gathers even on both sides of the pressure foot.

If you don't have a machine, then run a basting stitch along the ruffle sections and collect up using the same recipe as above to get them evenly gathered.

I Love Italian trip - November Attractions of Northern Italy, Part I

So you are mental of visiting northern Italy in November, but you're not sure what to see and what to do. Don't despair; there are lots and lots of special events that simply aren't ready in the good old summertime. Here are a few of them. Get rolling; November is roughly upon us. We start our virtual tour in the northwest and work our way east.

We start our November Italian tour in the bilingual Aosta Valley tucked in the mountains in the middle of France and Switzerland. On November first the hamlet of Cogne at the edge of the Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso celebrates the Cantes Festival, dedicated to its boys. They are offered wine and food and participants sing until sunset. About a week later Perloz celebrates the final of the Concours Bataille des Chevres (Goat Fight). Local breeders exhibit their best animals classed into three categories. The winners are awarded "tchambis", maple and walnut collars hand inlaid with the original bell. There are lesser prizes for eight other goats in each category.

What Are Truffles

The Piedmont region of northwestern Italy is notable for wine and food. You haven't tasted "mushrooms" until you've tried their white truffles, but bring your wallet. Fiera del Tartufo Bianco di Alba (White Alba Truffle Fair) may be the ultimate truffle festival. It runs for over a month beginning in early October and has been nearby for nearly eighty years. Alba is notable for its wine as is its original competitor, the nearby town of Asti. Alba also hosts the Regional White Vezza d'Alba Truffle & Roero Wines Fair in late November. Other truffle events include the Peccati di gola - Fiera regionale del Tartufo, Overindulgences - Regional Truffle Fair at Mondovi from late October to early November and the San Sebastiano Curone Truffle Festival in November. For more than truffles visit the Truffle Regional Fair in mid-November at Murisengo's "Trifola d'Or" (Golden Truffle) Fair with about a hundred booths that feature original food, wine, and handcrafts from the surrounding area.

For nearly five centuries the town of Nizza Monferrato southeast of Asti hosts its each year Fiera di San Carlo. Check it out in early November. You may want to come back to visit its Antiques store on the third Sunday of every month. In in the middle of the two, on the second Sunday of November the town of Alessandria near Piedmont's capital Turin hosts a wine exhibition. And Piedmont, Italy is world notable for its wines.

The Lombardy region of northwestern Italy is a great place for winter sports. The winter is fairly cold and even rainy in the mountains. But don't let that stop you. In early November the capital Milan hosts the Sei Giorno di Ciclismo (Six days of cycling). Lombardy is home to many cycling clubs such as the Viale Monza group that meets four mornings a week to cycle from the Piazzale Martesana (in front of the Gaetano Pini). Possibly the best news: All levels of cyclists are welcome. The last Sunday of every month (except July and August) Milan hosts the open air Naviglio Grande Antiques Fair. The slight town of Casteggio holds a White Truffle Festival in November.

You can find it at Frank's Kitchen, a College St. restaurant that sounds like a pizzeria but fits into its own category: Casual fine dining. The year-old Frank's has poise to spare. Staff make every moment of contact a joy, starting with accommodating a last-minute reservation request all the way to helping us put on our coats. Then there are the edible grace notes: hot and cold amuse bouches, palate-cleansing sorbets and gloriously creamy truffles at the end. I've been eating in casual Nonna-style restaurants for so many months, I'd forgotten these niceties. They make an ordinary mid-week dinner seem like a special occasion. Frank's tries to boost the standards of a casual neighbourhood place, and succeeds. Husband-and-wife owners Frank Parhizgar, 34, and Shawn Cooper, 42, worked in fine-dining restaurants, him in the kitchen at Centro and her in management at the Platinum Club. Their self-stated perfectionism is apparent in the details, from the monogrammed leather bill folds to the muslin-wrapped lemon halves served with fish. "They're no big deal ...
